How payment works here

Maine ADHD Clinic is a private-pay practice. That means no insurance is needed or billed, and clinical decisions are made between you and your clinician, without an insurance company in the middle. It also means pricing can be simple and published, so you know the cost of every visit before you book it.

HSA and FSA welcome

Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Account funds can typically be used for visits here. Check your plan’s rules for specifics.

Good Faith Estimate

Every new patient receives a written Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before starting care. It’s your right under federal law, and standard practice here. Read more.

No memberships

You pay for the care you receive, visit by visit. No subscriptions, no auto-renewals, no cancellation hoops.

Estimate your insurance reimbursement

This practice is private-pay, so there’s no insurance billing. But if your plan has out-of-network benefits, you can submit a superbill yourself and may get part of your fee back. Many PPO and POS plans reimburse somewhere between 50% and 80% once the deductible is met.

Not sure? Call the number on your insurance card and ask about out-of-network coverage for outpatient mental health visits.

3. Has your out-of-network deductible been met this year?

How reimbursement works
  1. I provide an itemized superbill after your visit.
  2. You submit it to your insurance company.
  3. Your insurer sends any reimbursement directly to you.

What’s a superbill? An itemized receipt with the billing codes for your appointment, which you submit to your insurer yourself to request reimbursement.

Please note: this tool gives an estimate only, not a guarantee of coverage or of any reimbursement amount. Insurers often base reimbursement on their own “allowed amount,” which can be lower than the fee. Medicare, MaineCare, and many HMO and EPO plans don’t cover out-of-network care. Billing codes are available on request so you can check with your insurer before your visit. Nothing you enter here is saved or sent anywhere.

Why private-pay? It keeps visits longer, scheduling faster, and treatment decisions clinical instead of administrative. If you have questions about whether this model works for your situation, ask on the free 15-minute call; it’s a fair question and you’ll get a straight answer.
