You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of what your care will cost
Under the federal No Surprises Act, health care providers must give patients who don’t have insurance, or who choose not to use insurance, a written estimate of expected charges for medical services.
What this means at Maine ADHD Clinic
Because this is a private-pay practice, every new patient receives a Good Faith Estimate before starting care. You have the right to:
- Receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of services, including evaluation visits, follow-up visits, and related services
- Receive the estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your service (you may also request one at any time, and it will be provided within 3 business days)
- Dispute a bill through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process if you are billed at least $400 more than the Good Faith Estimate
Keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate with your records.
