This Privacy Policy explains how Maine ADHD Clinic (“the practice,” “we,” “us”) handles information collected through this website, maineadhdclinic.com. It covers website visitors. If you become a patient, your health information is protected under a separate, stronger set of rules described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which is the controlling document for protected health information.
The short version
This website collects as little as possible. There are no advertising trackers, no social media pixels, and no sale of your information, ever. The contact form deliberately does not ask about your health. Health information belongs in phone calls and the secure patient platform, not in website forms or email.
Information we collect through this website
Information you choose to give us
- Callback request form. If you use the form on our Contact page, we collect your name, your email address and/or phone number, a general reason category (for example, “New patient — getting started”), and a preferred call time. The form intentionally has no free-text field and does not request health information.
- Phone calls, voicemail, and email. If you call, leave a voicemail, or email office@maineadhdclinic.com, we receive whatever information you choose to share. Please do not include health details in voicemails or emails; save those for your visit or the secure patient platform.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Like nearly all websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and timestamps. We use this only for security, troubleshooting, and keeping the site working.
- Cookies. This website uses strictly functional cookies required for basic operation, plus Google Analytics measurement cookies (such as “_ga”) on most pages as described in the Analytics section below. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or social media cookies.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information for marketing or advertising.
- We do not run advertising or retargeting pixels (no Meta Pixel, no Google Ads tags) anywhere on this website.
- We do not collect health information through website forms, and we do not ask you to email it.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children. This practice serves adults 18 and older, and the website is intended for adults.
How we use the information we collect
We use website information only to: respond to your callback requests and messages; schedule and provide services you ask about; operate, secure, and improve the website; and comply with legal obligations. That’s the complete list.
Automated emails
When you submit the callback form, an automated confirmation is sent to the email address you provide. These transactional emails are delivered through a third-party email delivery service acting on our behalf. They never contain health information, and submitting the form does not sign you up for marketing email.
Service providers
A small number of vendors process website data on our behalf: our website hosting provider, and our transactional email delivery service. They may process the technical and contact information described above solely to provide those services. Patient care uses separate, HIPAA-appropriate platforms under business associate agreements; those are described in the Notice of Privacy Practices.
When we might disclose information
We disclose website information only if required by law (for example, a valid subpoena or court order), to protect the security of the website and its users, or with your direction. We do not honor data requests from marketers, because we have nothing to give them.
Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand general visitor traffic: which pages are viewed, approximate region, and device type. Three deliberate limits apply. First, analytics does not run on the Contact page or any page used to request scheduling, so your act of reaching out to the practice is not shared with an analytics provider. Second, we use analytics for traffic measurement only: no advertising features, no ads personalization, and no remarketing. Third, analytics data is never combined with patient records or health information. You can block analytics entirely with standard browser privacy tools, and the website works fully without it. Google’s own practices are described in Google’s privacy documentation.
Data retention
Callback form submissions and related emails are kept only as long as needed to respond and schedule, and are then deleted in the ordinary course. Server logs rotate automatically on our hosting provider’s standard schedule. Information that becomes part of a patient record is retained under medical-records rules described in the Notice of Privacy Practices.
How we protect information
The contact form on this website transmits over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS), and form notifications are delivered through an encrypted mail service. The form deliberately does not ask for health information. Clinical information should be shared only through the secure, HIPAA-compliant patient portal.
The entire website is served over HTTPS encryption. Form submissions travel encrypted. Access to practice email and systems is limited and password-protected with multi-factor authentication where available. No website can promise perfect security, which is one more reason we keep health details out of this one.
Your choices and rights
- You may browse this website without providing any personal information; the phone works fine as a first contact.
- You may contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about you from this website, or to request correction or deletion, subject to legal record-keeping requirements. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.
- Maine residents may have additional rights under Maine law; we honor applicable state privacy rights regardless of technical thresholds.
- Our web server does not respond differently to “Do Not Track” browser signals because we do not track visitors in the first place.
