Adult ADHD Evaluation, Diagnosis & Treatment — Telehealth in Maine
Telehealth services & disclosures
Maine’s telehealth rules require clear disclosure of how telehealth care works at this practice. Here is everything, in plain language, as required by the Maine Boards’ Joint Telehealth Rule (02-380 C.M.R. Chapter 11).
1. Services provided
Maine ADHD Clinic provides psychiatric telehealth services focused on adult ADHD: comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and personalized follow-up care, including medication management when it is part of the treatment plan. Co-occurring anxiety, depression, sleep problems, and burnout are assessed and treated as part of care. Services are available only to adults 18 and older who are physically located in Maine at the time of each appointment. The practice does not treat minors and does not provide emergency or crisis services.
2. Contact information
Maine ADHD Clinic, PLLC · PO Box 462, Southwest Harbor, ME 04679 · Phone: 207-656-4539 · Email: office@maineadhdclinic.com (scheduling and administrative questions only; please do not email health details).
3. Your clinician: identity, licensure, and credentials
All care is provided by Audrey Farley, PMHNP-BC: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Certified Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric-Mental Health, board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and licensed by the Maine State Board of Nursing. You can verify her license at any time through the Maine State Board of Nursing license verification service. Education: BSN and MSN, Husson University. More background is on the About page.
4. Limitations on drugs and services provided via telehealth
Medication, including controlled substances such as stimulants, is prescribed only when clinically appropriate, after a comprehensive evaluation, and in accordance with state and federal law. No medication is ever guaranteed. Under current federal rules (extended through December 31, 2026), controlled substances may be prescribed via telehealth following a real-time video evaluation; if federal rules change, an in-person visit or a coordinated transfer of care could become necessary, and patients will be informed with a concrete plan. Maine rules prohibit prescribing based solely on an internet questionnaire, and this practice does not do so. Telehealth is also not appropriate for emergencies or for conditions requiring hands-on physical examination; when that’s the case, you’ll be referred to appropriate in-person care.
5. Fees, payment, and cost responsibility
This is a private-pay practice: no insurance is billed, and you are responsible for the published fee for each visit, payable at the time of service. All fees are published on the Fees & Payment page before booking opens, prices for the practice’s most frequently provided services are available on request, and every new patient receives a written Good Faith Estimate. HSA/FSA funds are typically usable, and superbills for out-of-network reimbursement are available on request.
6. Financial interests
The practice has no financial interest in any product, service, testing platform, pharmacy, or information source it recommends or links to, beyond the professional fees it charges for care. Links to external health resources are provided free of any compensation.
7. Technology: appropriate uses, limitations, and emergencies
Visits occur by secure, real-time video. You’ll need a device with a camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection, and a private space in Maine. If video fails during a visit, the backup is a phone call to the number on file. Telehealth is not usable for emergencies: if you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call the Maine Crisis Line at 1-888-568-1112, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency department. At each visit, your physical location and an emergency contact are confirmed so that local help can be arranged if ever needed.
8. Privacy and security of the technology
Visits and patient communications run through an encrypted, HIPAA-appropriate telehealth and practice platform operating under business associate agreements. As with any internet-based service, no transmission can be guaranteed perfectly secure; risks are further reduced by simple habits like taking visits in a private space and keeping your device updated. Website privacy practices are separate and described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Email, messages, and response times
Email and the website callback form are for scheduling and administrative matters only, and are answered during weekday business hours. They are not monitored continuously and are never the right channel for urgent clinical matters or health details; clinical communication for established patients happens by phone and through the secure patient platform.
10. Who your health information may be disclosed to, and why
Your health information is used and disclosed only as described in the Notice of Privacy Practices: for treatment (for example, sending prescriptions to your pharmacy or coordinating with other treating providers), payment, health care operations, and disclosures required by law, including reporting of controlled-substance prescriptions to Maine’s Prescription Monitoring Program. Anything beyond those categories requires your written authorization.
11. Your rights regarding your health information
You have the right to access and receive copies of your records, request amendments, request an accounting of disclosures, request restrictions and confidential communications, and receive notice of any breach. Because this is a private-pay practice, you may also restrict disclosures to any health plan. The full list, and how to exercise each right, is in the Notice of Privacy Practices.
12. Information collected by this website and passive tracking
This website collects the minimum described in the Privacy Policy: callback form fields you choose to submit, standard server logs, strictly functional cookies, and Google Analytics traffic measurement that is excluded from the Contact page and configured without advertising features. There are no advertising pixels, no social media trackers, and no sale of visitor data.
Informed consent for telehealth
Before treatment begins, every patient reviews and signs a telehealth informed-consent document through the secure intake process, covering the nature of telehealth care, its benefits and limitations, technology requirements, privacy safeguards, and emergency procedures. This page is a public summary; the consent document is the operative record, as required by 02-380 C.M.R. Ch. 11 §3(10).
